Mood for Swing is a three-day weekend event organized by Amore & Lulu from Swing Gigolo.
The first edition took place in 2008, featuring three consecutive nights of live music and dance parties. In 2009, the event was briefly renamed Mood for Jump, but in 2010, it returned as Mood for Swing in its current form.
In 2011, Mood for Swing invited world-class instructors for the first time, introducing a format that included two days of workshops, three nights of live music parties, and a mix-and-match competition. The inaugural guest instructors were Peter & Naomi from the United States. Since then, we have hosted incredible dancers such as Todd & Ramona, Pontus & Isabella, Ksenia, JB & Tatiana, Mikey & Nikki, Felix & Mikaela, Hector & Sonia, Ari & Simon, Soochan & Young, and Nick & Kate.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was put on hold for two years from 2020.
However, in 2023, Mood for Swing made its long-awaited return.
While it may not be a large-scale event, Mood for Swing is known for its intimate atmosphere, featuring carefully curated workshops with a select instructor each year and three nights of dancing to the performances of Japan’s finest musicians.

Mood for Swing is Tokyo’s annual three-day celebration of swing dance, held every May.
Three nights of incredible live music by Japan’s finest swing bands, inspiring workshops with world-class dancers, thrilling competitions, and unforgettable late-night parties await you.
Dancers from around the world gather for this one-of-a-kind event — don’t miss it!
